Dirt 3 (stylised DiRT 3) is a rallying video game and the third in the Dirt series of the Colin McRae Rally series, developed and published by Codemasters. However, the "Colin McRae" tag has been completely removed from this iteration (having previously been removed from only American versions of previous games in the series). The game was released in Europe and North America on 24 May 2011, and two days later in Australia for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The Japanese version of Dirt 3 was released on 25 August 2011. In September 2011, there were reports that a network security problem on the website of an AMD promo had resulted in the loss of 3 million Dirt 3 keys to the public for use via the Steam platform that have then been posted in various places around the internet.

Colin McRae: Dirt 2 (known as Dirt 2 in the Americas and stylised, DiRT 2) is a racing game released in September 2009, and is the sequel to Colin McRae: Dirt. This is the first game in the McRae series since McRae's death in 2007. It was announced on 19 November 2008 and features Ken Block, Travis Pastrana, Tanner Foust, and Dave Mirra. The game includes many new race-events, including stadium events. Along with the player, an RV travels from one event to another, and serves as "headquarters" for the player. It features a roster of contemporary off-road events, taking players to diverse and challenging real-world environments. The game takes place across four continents: Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. The game includes five different event types: Rally, Rallycross, "Trailblazer", "Land Rush" and "Raid". The World Tour mode sees players competing in multi-car and solo races at new locations, and also includes a new multiplayer mode.Colin McRae: Dirt 2 is the first PC video game to use Blue Ripple Sound's Rapture3D sound engine by default. Also it was one of the first video games to implement the then newly released DirectX 11 graphical standard on ATI 5000 and NVIDIA Geforce 400 series chipsets.A demo of the game was released on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace on 20 August 2009. Need for Speed: Shift is the 13th installment of the long-running racing video game franchise Need for Speed; published by Electronic Arts. It was announced in December 2008 as part of a three-game announcement that includes Need for Speed: Nitro and Need for Speed: World.Shift was developed by Slightly Mad Studios in conjunction with EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts. In the new franchising model for the series adopted by EA, Shift takes its place focusing on simulation/arcade racing rather than the arcade racing of previous titles in the series. According to EA, the game has sold 4 million copies on all platforms combined. Shift was commercially successful, and followed by a sequel, Shift 2: Unleashed, in 2011.

For 2008, the rights to develop video games representing the MotoGP brand have been granted to a single publisher: Capcom. MotoGP '08 is available on the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Wii (simply called "MotoGP"). For the first time in recent years, MotoGP 08 includes the addition of playable 125cc and 250cc support classes. The Wii version of the game gives the player the option of using the Wii Remote as a handlebar, adding some lifelike control realism to the title.Last year's MotoGP '07 for the PlayStation 2 (published by Capcom) has a reputation for emphasis on simulation in contrast to the MotoGP titles published by THQ (for Xbox, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows), which have a reputation for arcade gameplay. MotoGP '08 is reported to balance these different styles and allow the player to configure an emphasis towards their desired gameplay.Reviews of the game have been mixed; Metacritic's aggregate score is a 68 for the Xbox 360 version of MotoGP 08.

On May 21, 2007, Electronic Arts published a teaser trailer of ProStreet, and officially announced it ten days later. It was released worldwide in November 2007. Its action footage was used in American Le Mans Series. ProStreet was the first PlayStation 3 game with DualShock 3 rumble support.The demo, featuring two races, one speed challenge and one grip race, appeared on Xbox Live on October 26, 2007, on PlayStation Store on November 1, 2007, and on PC on November 2, 2007. The PC version is the last in the series to use CD-ROMs, which are succeeded by the usage of DVDs for the rest of the series. Colin McRae: Dirt (shortened to Dirt in North America, and stylised, DiRT) is the sixth racing game in the Colin McRae Rally series, developed by Codemasters, and the last of the series to be published before Colin McRae's death. It features new graphics, audio, physics engine, new vehicles and a new game engine which was co-developed between Codemasters and Sony Computer Entertainment. The game features a variety of off-road racing categories as well as World Rally Championship style events. The sequel, Colin McRae: Dirt 2, was released in September 2009.
